Course Description

With an ageing population, denture fabrication and delivery becomes a very important part of the dentist’s skill armamentarium.  New methods and materials have been recently developed and introduced that make this treatment simpler and more enjoyable for both the patient and the dentist.  This presentation will describe several methods of fabricating dentures that are easier than what was taught in dental school.  Denture reline methods will be described and a hands-on session will allow participants to try new materials that have made the reline process much simpler and predictable.

Learning Objectives:

1.    Understand conventional denture fabrication process and its inherent weaknesses
2.    Learn about the use of new materials to reline dentures in a chairside manner
3.    Compare the different reline materials and understand where and when to use them
4.    Hands-on training in using silicone based materials.
