Course Description

Description:

There are many questions that surround placing implants into newly extracted sites.  In recent years, the better understanding of biological factors has allowed for significantly improved and predictable outcomes.  The benefits of successful immediate implant placement include less chair time for the patient, avoiding a second surgery that may require opening a flap and possible tissue grafting, and an overall faster treatment time.  This course will discuss the advantages and disadvantages of immediate implant placement, treatment planning for incisors, canines, premolars and molars, grafting and temporization.

Course Objectives:

  • Discuss indications for immediate implant placement.
  • Discuss the different techniques used in immediate implant placement in different sites in the mouth.
  • How to handle complications.
