Course Description

Mastering direct resin restorations is of great importance in a context of minimally invasive dentistry. Restoring anterior and posterior teeth with composite resins is a conservative and versatile treatment option with very good clinical longevity when a rigorous technique is applied. New composite materials, with their wide variety of shades and opacities as well as their improved handling and properties, provide dentists the opportunity to achieve aesthetic results of remarkable quality. This presentation will discuss current resin composite materials as well as the new low shrink resin, especially in terms of practical aspects of their usage to minimize sensitivity and improve long-term clinical performance. Step by step direct resin layering technique will be shown, from shade selection and tooth preparation, handling and finishing procedures. Participants will learn clinical tips applicable in their daily practice to create highly aesthetic and durable composite restorations in a consistent and predictable manner.
