Misfits of Implant-supported Restorations and How to Avoid Them

User Ratings -

Course Description

Course Description:

Implant treatment has proven to be a durable and predictable option for the replacement of missing teeth. Despite the obvious advantages of implant splinting, it poses several challenges, particularly the high demand for accuracy in prosthesis fabrication and fitting. Passive fit of frameworks on abutments and implants has been considered to be crucial to achieve long-term success. Several techniques have been advocated to improve the final fit of an implant framework even though most of them are not capable of providing a totally passive fitting framework.

Course Objective:

·         To review strict control of each step in the fabrication of the prosthesis.

·         Prosthetic design principles to avoid prosthetic misfits.

·         Application of extra treatment procedures to prevent misfits

·         Explore various methods of improving the fit at the time of frame fabrication.

·         Compare and review the available treatment steps that could create misfit.

·         Discuss regarding omission of errors to improvise the fit and review new advancements to rectify misfits.
