Today dental practitioners and laboratory personnel are relying more and more on the use of CAS/CAM and digital technology. Using CAD/CAM in implant dentistry may increase efficiency by decreasing chair and lab time for many labour intensive procedures, allowing for time on more productive procedures. CAD/CAM offers a new philosophy for restoring and fabricating restorations, implant abutments and frameworks. Course Topics • A systematic approach on when CAD/CAM implant abutments and restorations should be considered. • Clinical and laboratory steps on incorporating intraoral digital scanning for both surgical and restorative practices. • Treatment planning CAD/CAM bars for the completely edentulous patient. • Guided surgery; how can it benefit your practice • Protocols for immediately placed implants with provisionals will also be reviewed.
Dr. Jansen completed his DDS and Prosthodontic training at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He is the former Director of Implant Dentistry at the University Of Southern California School Of Dentistry. He is an Associate member of the American College of Prosthodontics. He is an active member of the Academy of Osseointegration and the European Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Jansen lectures extensively nationally and internationally on implant dentistry. He has developed specific restorative dental implant components which are used throughout the world. Dr. Jansen has published several articles on prosthetics and implant dentistry. He also maintains a private practice limited to prosthodontics and implant dentistry located in Monterey, California.
