This course offers the opportunity to the participant dentist or auxiliary to experience the use of one of the most commonly used overdenture attachments. The first part of this course will be in a lecture format and will include a clinical overview of overdentures both on natural teeth or implants and will provide a description, indications and contraindications of the locator attachment. The second part will include a step by step hands on placement and processing of the attachment. Using edentulous models, the participants will practice the placement of implant attachments and they will incorporate the housing into the denture base. Both indirect (through a pick up impression) and direct methods will be shown. At the end of this course, the participant should easily be able to place and process locator attachments in their practices.
