Anatomically challenged bone often leads to less than ideal placement of implants in the both the maxilla and mandible. The most common way to deal with this has been to make use of cement retained restorations or angulated abutments both of which have inherent difficulties.
This discussion will explore simplified treatment solutions using a novel implant design that allows for uncompromised surgical and restorative outcomes that help maximize bone and soft tissue volume as well as provide accelerated therapy. The requirement for sinus elevation and bone grafting can be reduced substantially.
Implants of significant diameter as well as implants with angled prosthetic platform correction built into the body of the implant will be discussed. These innovative designs allow the surgeon, restorative clinician and laboratory to collaborate on a treatment plans that provide greater efficiency in patient care.
CBCT planning and guided surgical protocols make these treatment modalities very exacting and make prosthetic rehabilitation predictable.
