Recessions are one of the most common clinical findings in a dental practice. Graft or not to graft, refer or not to refer, is a constant battle in the mind of the clinician trying to make the appropriate clinical decision for addressing this mucogingival defect condition. Understanding the etiology and the risk factors, surgical treatment modalities, their indications and contraindications, helps the general practitioners in their thought process to select the appropriate time, case, and technique for this treatment modality.
- To have a better understanding of the etiology and risk factors
- To have a better understanding of the case selection process for soft tissue grafting.
- To review goals of soft tissue grafting procedures and their indication.
