User Ratings -

Course Description

3 CE Credits

Online Lecture

Description:

Occlusal adjustment may be defined as thorough selective grinding of teeth surfaces to achieve a more harmonious contact pattern between teeth. Different guidelines may apply to occlusal adjustment of natural teeth, prosthetic teeth and different types of removable or fixed tooth or implant-supported restorations. This course aims to clarify these somewhat confusing guidelines and introduce predictable means of occlusal assessment which assist in determination of the best methods and materials to provide dental treatment.

Course Objectives:

  • Review of the indications and contraindications for occlusal adjustment.
  • Elaboration on different rules and methods for occlusal adjustment on natural teeth and different removable and fixed (tooth or implant-supported) restoration.
  • Introduction of technology that assists in choosing restorative materials based on occlusal force.
