The Evolution and Development of Dental Outreach in Rural Uganda

User Ratings -

Course Description

As the founding member and executive director of KIHEFO, Dr. Geoffrey Anguyo has worked tirelessly for continued development of rural regions of Uganda. He is committed to his mission of fighting the cycle of disease, ignorance, and poverty in southwest Uganda while promoting economic development through an integrated and sustainable approach.

KIHEFO distinguishes itself from other organizations through its unique community approach. The team travels to nearby villages bringing services to community groups that would otherwise be neglected. These outreaches allow KIHEFO to work with needy communities, schools, and people living with HIV/AIDs. Projects are inspired by the needs of the nearby communities, ensuring community support and effectiveness.

During this lecture, Dr. Anguyo will be joined by Dr. Elahe Behrooz and Caroline Szymaniak – Outreach Alumni and executive board members for Build Your Smile Dental Foundation  – to discuss the Canada-Uganda connection, the evolution of the dental program and its various components as well as share the future plans for the expansion of the Foundation.

*All proceeds will be donated to KIHEFO
