Course Description

1 CE Credit

Tooth wear is an insidious pathologic process that can cause severe damage not just to the dentition, but to the stomatognathic system.  Treatment often involves indirect restorative procedures that can also become compromised when a proper diagnosis has not been identified.  The objective of this course is to identify the different causes for tooth wear, discuss treatment planning and examine cases to identify how they can be treated.

Course Objectives:

·         Be able to identify and diagnose the various etiological factors surrounding tooth wear.

·         Identify the restorative challenges associated with tooth wear.

·         Understand basic management of patients exhibiting tooth wear.

·         Identify prognostic factors that will influence treatment decision making.
